Cronulla Triathlon Club encourages all members to join Tri NSW for many reasons including Insurance coverage.
Cronulla Triathlon Club requires that if you are participating in Club training activities that you join the Club

CLUB BIKE PACKS
In the interests of everyone's safety while riding in a pack and to achieve the overall purpose of a training ride, the Club requests all members read and adhere to these rules.

BIKE PACK RULES
All riders participating in Cronulla Triathlon Club rides MUST ABIDE by the 'Bike Pack Rules' or not ride with the Cronulla Triathlon Club bike pack/s.
The purpose of these rules is to inform you of the way the bike packs are conducted.
PLEASE read these rules and familiarise yourself with them, as they will be enforced by the Club bike captain.
1   MEMBERS ONLY
All riders MUST be a current financial member of either Cronulla Triathlon Club, Tri NSW or a Cycling Federation member. This is a necessity for insurance purposes under these associations and their insurers.
If you are not a member DO NOT show up to ride or encourage others who are not members.
While this may appear harsh and not encouraging people to join in on Club activities, it is mandatory.
2   MEETING PLACE
All club rides meet on The Kingsway Caringbah, outside SUBWAY.
3   THE PACKS
Tuesday & Thursday morning packs.
These mid week packs consist of two (2) packs.
The two (2) mid-week packs are generally split up as follows:
Pack 1 leaving at 5.00 am - A grade riders. Pace is around the 35-40+kph.
Pack 2 leaving at 5.01am - middle pace riders. Pace is around 30-35kph.

PLEASE place yourself in the appropriate pack for your ability.
If you are not sure start with the lower pack and work up.
Should a pack captain believe you are riding in the wrong pack for your ability they have the right to request you to change to the correct pack (up or down).
It is both a safety and a riding etiquette issue that you seed yourself accordingly.
This means if you are an A grade rider you do not ride in the 2nd pack, and vice versa.
To correctly ride in a pack you must have your turn at the front of the pack, as well as the ability to roll over when the pace is increased. If you cannot, drop down to the next pack.
All riders will abide by the calls and directions of the bike captain.

4   BIKE LIGHTS
It is LAW for all riders to have both a rear and front light on their bikes; working and turned on.
Again this is a safety issue and mandatory. NO LIGHTS NO RIDE.
5   SAFETY FIRST
1. The packs must abide by all normal road traffic rules - they are LAW.
2. No earphones or headphones to be worn, ever.
3. No use of aero bars when riding in a pack. Your response times are reduced and this is not consistent with the aim of riding in a pack.
6    PACK ETIQUETTE
Each pack will abide by the following common courtesy rules:
1. If a rider gets a FLAT, yell 'flat' and the pack will SLOW DOWN enough to enable at least 2  riders to pull out and stop with that person while they fix the flat. If you are not in a desperate hurry to be back on time please stop for riders with flats - it may be you one morning!
Generally all riders on the Sunday ride wait.
2. If the front of a pack goes through an orange light the pack will SLOW DOWN until the remaining riders who have waited for the lights to change again and catch up.
DO NOT RUN RED LIGHTS!.
3. During all rides, where there are FEMALES in the pack, no pack will ride that fast that the females are dropped and left on their own.   Any riders not willing to accept this will be asked to leave the ride and not return unless willing to ride safe.
This will be policed by the bike captain on all mid week and Sunday rides.
4. If you are riding down a pack, say for an easy ride day, then you must ride to that pack's ability, and not try to get the pack to go faster to your normal speed, ie 1st pack rider in the 2nd pack and still trying to do 45kph. It would be preferable in these instances that you ride towards the rear of the pack and let the pack ride at their usual pace.
5. This is a Cronulla Triathlon Club pack ride and if you want to do a time trial session DO NOT ride with the pack, it's not meant to be a RACE PACE SESSION.
6. Basic bike pack skills are required to ride in a pack. PLEASE don't ride in the pack if you have no experience or skills - it only becomes dangerous. New riders should ride at the back to start until they get a good feel for what's going on.
7. Be careful of what you do in the pack, not all riders have the same bike skills and they may react quite differently to you in the same situation.
8. Be considerate of other riders at all times.
If you are not completely sure of these procedures please ask someone.
7  PACK FORMATION & CHANGE OVERS
Each pack works on the basis of:
1. The mid-week 1st pack remain together until the airport tunnel where they start a speed session to Dolls Point. Should you be dropped during the speed session the pack will not wait for you.The mid-week 2nd pack remain together most of all the time except sometimes for the hill from Fiveways lights to Kareena Rd lights where the pack regroups if required.                                                                                                                                  2. Ride only 2 abreast. Pair up from the start and the changeovers will have you moving on.
3. The right side of the pack is constantly moving forward and changing to the left at the front of the pack. The left side of the pack is constantly moving backwards and changing to the right at the back of the pack. Remember to maintain the pack speed!
4. If you start to get tired and can't keep up, pull out of the line when you are on the left hand side only and wave the pack through.
We all want to enjoy the Cronulla Triathlon Club bike packs and if we abide by these rules we should have a trouble free and safe ride every time.
8 NEW RIDERS
All new riders should introduce themselves to the bike captain to clarify any concerns or questions you may have, as well as be correctly advised which pack to commence riding in.

Robertson/Moss Vale Ride

This ride will be held once a year. The date and other details to be advised.
The ride will enable new members to experience the pleasure of riding up Macquarie Pass and for others to have their memories refreshed of the 12 km climb to the famous Robertson Pie Shop.

Other rides may be organised during the year.
These may be an extension of the Sunday ride course. E.g.  Sublime Point Lookout. -keep an eye on the website.
